Ignacio Rubio Zaballos-Bustingorri

Ignacio Rubio Zaballos-Bustingorri holds of a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the University Complutense of Madrid. His professional journey has revolved around the market and collecting of contemporary art. After completing his studies and training at the Contemporary Art department of Sotheby’s, the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and the National Museum Reina Sofía, he assumed the role of Contemporary Art Manager and Auctioneer at Durán Arte y Subastas.

Over these years, he has been involved in the initial sales of works in the Spanish market by Yayoi Kusama, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yves Klein, Damien Hirst, or Tony Cragg. He has served as a speaker at various institutions such as the Casa de México Foundation and IE University. He collaborated with the Tendencias del Mundo del Arte magazine on «The Guide to Collecting Contemporary Art» in the ARCO’23 and ARCO’21 editions and recently took part in the El Mundo del Arte podcast, as well as other media outlets like Cope or TVE.
